Hi, several questions: Can the software file two state returns (lived in both IL and NY). I lived in NYC less than 183 days, does the software account for that?

Yes, you can file more than one state tax return. Under the Personal Info section, indicate that you lived in more than one state and if you had earnings in NYC. The order of state tax preparation is important.
