Why are they asking this? What state is it? How does this affect your taxes?
They asked me if I lived in another state during the year, so I out that I lived in Florida. I did not work or make any sort of money while living in Florida. They are now asking me for an end date in Michigan like I do not intend on staying here, which I do. It is all very confusing, and I do not know how to fix it.
These are questions in the Personal Info interview of TurboTax and they help determine your state filing requirements - you will have to edit them to clear up the confusion
If you lived in Michigan on 12/31/2020 and intended to stay there, you have to tell the program that MI is your state of residence. You will be subject to MI tax for the time you lived in MI on 2020 (10 months), and will file a part-year resident MI tax return.
Since you lived in FL for two (2) months, you would also answer "Yes" when asked if you "Lived in another state in 2020".
