You will need to update the state ID number for the form W2 in question. While this number doesn't affect your tax calculations for UT, it does affect e-filing steps.
The Utah withholding account number is a 14-character number. The first eleven characters are numeric and the last three are “WTH.” Do not enter hyphens. Example: 12345678901WTH. The letters should be lowercase.
I have tried to do this multiple times LAST year and THIS year. Nothing works. any other suggestions???
I thought the last 3 letters had to be Upper Case... Try that and post back if it works.
Delete the entire ID number, and click in another box before editing in the new one...sometime a case change doesn't take unless you blank out the entry entirely first.
But it does need to be done on each and every form that had a state line in it showing UT withholding.
Usually W-2 and 1099-R forms, but occasionally a few others.
