Entering 529 contribution on NY non resident return no doing anything

I am looking at my 2023 Turbotax .I work in NY and live in NJ so I file non resident NYS return .I have enter 5300 in NY 529 contribution.  However, when I look at forms, that amount is flowing through any forms or calculations and  I don't see deduction or credit.  Is it a glitch?

You state that you are filing a nonresident return. You can review the rules.

Reference: Tax benefits | NY 529 Direct Plan  - the very bottom mentions nonresidents will have to check with their state of residency.

I don’t see anything on the page that says non resident is not qualified  just that it might vary. Can you tell where I can specifically confirm this? I have friends whose accountant who tells them they can deduct because they work in NY..

“State tax benefits for non-resident New York taxpayers may vary. Please consult your tax advisor about your particular situation.”

I have found pages that conflict but finally found a chart on page 4 that shows the nonresident form IT-203 with the 529. I recommend you make a copy and keep it with your tax records since it comes from the state of NY and is dated for 2024 tax year. There is also a record of this conversation here. Great job!
