Background: 21 year old, full time college student, earned less than $7,000.
My daughter is married to a French national who is in the process of immigrating to the US. He does not have a SSN or ITIN nor will it be possible for us to get one for him. He can't come into the US until his immigration application is settled. If we try to file for her as married filling separately his SSN/ITIN is required on both Federal and State. But if we claim her on our taxes as married dependent his SSN/ITIN is not required.
My daughter lives with us. We currently support her while she is attending school full time. I have claimed her on our Federal taxes. My questions:
Is she required to file state taxes? Or is her status as claimed on my Federal taxes transfered to Ohio? How do I proceed?
I can't find anything about this on the Ohio tax site.
Thank you

Assuming that her income is not self employment income she doesn’t have a filing requirement for federal or state and she qualifies as your dependent.
Her income is not self-employment.
