Do I need to file state taxes in Iowa? I worked in Iowa, but lived in Illinois. State income tax was paid to IL.

On the Personal Info page you do NOT indicate you worked in another state for this situation.

Since you filed the proper forms to only have IL taxes withheld...that W-2 is treated as-if you only worked in IL all year.

The situation would be different if you worked in IN or MO....those states do not have a Reciprocal Tax Agreement with IL.

________________

IL does have a Reciprocal Tax Agreement with IA, WI, KY and MI

........ (but only applies to W-2 income while working in those states, not self-employment income or rental income if you own properties in those other states))
