Contributions to a 529 plan are not deductible on your federal taxes, however Maryland is one of the many states that offer a deduction for 529 contributions. You would answer the 529 questions under the State taxes tab.

If you did not live in Maryland, (but contributed to their plan), you will need to determine if your state allows a deduction for any state's plan. Most states only allow a deduction for contributions to their own in-state plan.
