• First, make sure you download all forms and worksheets, not just the tax return.
• Next, scroll down past the MI return and look for Form 5121 or 5120 (part-year). It should be after the state and before the worksheets. The state of MI tax return includes the Detroit return, as a subsection of the state return. 
• Lastly, Open your Electronic Postmark or Filing Submission page in TurboTax (usually the very first page of your PDF).
  • Look for a line that mentions "City of Detroit" or "Form 5120" under the Michigan e-file section.
  • If you see it there, the Michigan Department of Treasury has it and will process it to the city of Detroit.
