We give to churches, but heard those deductions are going away in 2018. Any advice what to do to increase any available deductions ?

As Charitable deductions, are they going away next year ?

Charitable deductions did not and are not going away ... however since the standard deduction has increased so much the number of people who will be able to itemize deductions will be much lower. 

If you are have taxable IRAs you can make Qualified charitable distributions  directly to charities to reduce your tax bill that way.
