Capital Loss Carryover: Moved from VA to TX

Hi, I moved from VA to TX in Sept. 2019.  I am claiming the maximum $3,000 capital loss carryover for my federal return.  Can I claim the full $3,000 loss for my part-year resident VA state return as well?  (Will not have to do a part-year resident TX state return since TX has no state income tax.)  Thanks.

If you can show that the original loss that created the carryover occurred when you were a Virginia resident, this would be fine.  You could also prorate the loss based on the number of days you were in each state.

Thanks.  I will prorate based on number of days in VA in 2019.
