Cannot Access or Begin State Taxes for New York after paying for and downloading software into Turbo Tax desktop software

I have completed the Federal portion of the return for this year using your desktop software.  Subsequently, I downloaded and paid for the New York State Chapter S software.  Every time I go to start the return, it starts a brand new download loop, says it has been downloaded correctly, but I am never able to start my state portion of the return.

Please help ...

Cannot Access or Begin State Taxes for New York after paying for and downloading software into Turbo Tax desktop software

Hi, Im having the same issue with New York state.  Will not print, will not file, have filed my Federal but state refuses to work, states its waiting for Turbotax to fix forms for the state to work.

Same problem here.  Keeps looping downloading State return.  Then when it finishes, I try to start the State return, and the download loop starts all over again.  Will we be notified when there's a fix for this?

I am having the same problem with NY State.  I get a choice to "purchase state" or "Done with States" and if I click Purchase, it tells me NY is already installed.  If I click Done, it bypasses state return.

If your TurboTax download is stuck in a state return loop, the software may not have properly registered the state module installation. To fix this, either:

Manually update your TurboTax software, or

Run the TTStateCleanup.exe tool as an administrator to remove and re-download the state

With a PC:

  1. Go to the control panel in the start menu and click on it
  2. Scroll down to user accounts and select
  3. In the new window, you'll see a link to change your account type; select that link.
  4. In the next window, change to administrator and then click on the link to change account type.
  5. Reboot. The ability to do this may be limited because of other settings on your PC
