August 2016 I moved to another state for graduate school and rent an apartment there, but did not change my mailing address from my mother's. So should i say i lived in 2 states

If you did not earn any income in your current state and are only living there temporarily to attend school, then you should say that you only live in one state (where your permanent address is).
