My wife and I moved from VA to DE in May 2022. When my wife received her W-2 from her employer in Jan 23, I noted that they reported her state wages incorrectly. The state wage distributions to both VA and DE were incorrect. There was no effect to her federal income as the total amount was correct. I filed our 2022 federal income tax return and our 2022 VA and DE state returns using the incorrect state wage data from her W-2. Her employer stated that they would issue a W-2C showing the correct state wage distributions but they stated they had no estimated delivery date when that would be done.
She just received her W-2C showing the correct state wage distribution. There was no change in the total amount of federal income, just to state wages. I know I need to file amended state returns for VA and DE. Do I need to file an amended federal return (1040X) which shows the correct state wage distribution from the W-2C?

If the changes you made had no effect on your federal return, there is no need to amend it.
