After moving from CA to another state (for working with another company) during May of a year, should I file CA tax as a resident or non-resident?

My understanding is filing as a CA resident will require paying California tax on income earned in another state too.

If the new state will is your new resident state (in other words, this is not just a temporary move), you file part-year resident returns in both states.
