In 2021 I lived and worked in California. In Jan 2022, I moved to Florida. What address should use in my 2021 TurboTax return? The option under Personal Info to give a previous state residency is confusing. When I indicate that California was the state of my former residency, I'm asked to give a date when I became a resident of my new state. I try to enter Jan 1, 2022, but Turbo tax will not accept it. I get the following error message
"You must enter a date in 2021 for the date you became a resident"
This does not make any sense!!

Use the address where you want to receive mail from the IRS. If the IRS decides to mail you a check you want it to come to your current address in FL--not your old address.
You will be asked if you lived/worked in any other state during 2021 since it is a 2021 tax return. That is when you enter the information that you lived/worked in CA.
What you do in 2022 does not affect your 2021 tax return. For your 2021 tax return, ignore the move in 2022. You lived in California all year. There is no previous state.
In the Personal Info section, TurboTax first asks for your state of residence on December 31, 2021. You will say California. (If it asks for your zip code enter your California zip code.) Then it asks if you lived in another state in 2021. You did not. Later it asks for the address where you receive your mail. Enter the address where you live now, in Florida. Your residence in 2021 and your current mailing address are two different questions.
