If you moved you should be filing a part year return for NY ... however ... NY is one of those states that computes your annual tax on all your income then pro rates that amount for the NY taxes... look at the tax forms to see how that is calculated.

So even though your FL wages are not taxed in NY they do come into play when calculating which tax rate applies to you.  Not fair but that is how they work it.
