2022 Military Retired Pay Exemption for Nebraska

Nebraska excluded 100% of military retired pay for 2022 (LB 387), but the NE download for Turbotax doesn't seem to include this (it looks like this income is still taxed). Will this be an update?

You can contact Support --> What is the TurboTax phone number? (intuit.com), but you should hold off until the updates are complete.

Thanks, I was about to ask the same question.

2022 Military Retired Pay Exemption for Nebraska

It appears that 26 Jan is the date given for IRS alternative-fuel tax forms updates from TurboTax (as a result of the IRA), and those rules were finalized in August, so perhaps that's a go-by for state updates, although the Nebraska change was passed in May 2022 by the state legislature.  Obviously it takes awhile for the software to catch up....

Hopefully sooner but as long as they fix it...

My TurboTax copy has none of the deductions for energy-efficient vehicles or home credit for EV charger installation that was established in law in the middle of August 2022, nor the correct deductions for my state (this topic), established in May 2022.  I don't know what else is incorrect if it doesn't apply directly to me, but these are examples.  Is there something wrong with publishing the software with what we already KNOW to be correct, then adjusting it later with updates, six and eight months later?  In a new tax year?  Asking for a friend....🤔

The IRS Form 8936 Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit and IRS Form 8911 Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit will not be finalized and available in TurboTax until 01/26/2023 (Estimated).

Your state forms and schedules may not all be finalized and available at this time.

The IRS will not even start processing returns until the end of January so everyone needs to take a deep breath and be patient.

Today's (1/26) download fixed the issue.  There was a questionnaire on deductions to Federal income for Nebraska and one block was for military retirement pay.  Filled that in and all is good.
