1099 G State Tax Refund

If I get a 1099 G and both me and my husband is on it and he doesn't work right now or this year for taxes next year in 2025. Will I still have to file jointly or can I file it myself even if he doesn't have W2's?

1099 G State Tax Refund

When you are legally married and living together you should file as Married Filing Jointly even if one spouse has little or no income.

Unless you itemized your deductions for 2023 on the federal tax return, then the state tax refund you received is not entered as taxable income on the 2024 tax return.
