I worked remotely from Georgia all year for university of Vermont and my W2 does not show VT taxes withheld. Do i need to file VT non resident taxes?

    @Shivbhugra  Namaste Shiv ji.

    Generally NO. IRS generally  sources the income to where the actual work was performed.  So if you are resident of Georgia  ( Tax-home Georgia ), , performed the work while in Georgia, then the  income is Georgia sourced.   You file a Georgia resident return covering this income.

    Note that some states are changing the tax laws to collect some tax on remote work.

    Is there more I can do for you ?
