Wife forgot to change address with employer after we moved. NJ taxes were withheld for one month before it was taken off. How to file taxes?
We never lived in NJ during 2019. Taxes were only taken out in January for NJ. Income tax collected from NJ was only $57. Do I have to file a return with NJ because of this? It's my understanding that I should be able to claim this money back because I never lived in NJ in 2019 and taxes were improperly taken.
I'm trying to file through TurboTax, but it's telling me I owe taxes to NJ. What's the best way to go about this? I'm happy to just not file if that's an option as well.
