Turbo Tax California State Rental Income from Out of State Property

Filing a CA nonresident/part-year resident 2020 return. Lived in Texas until end of June 2020, then moved to CA.

Reported rental income from 1 Texas rental property on my federal tax form. TT carried over the rental income/loss information from my federal form 8582 into CA form 3801. The rental income is Passive Activity, and let's say for the year 2020 income is 5000, loss is 4500, overall gain 500.

TT also asked "Enter your profit or loss from rents and royalties received while you were a California resident and from property located in California while you were a nonresident", in my case I was a CA resident from July to Dec 2020 and the corresponding rental income and loss for that six month period would be 2500 and 2800, so overall loss 300.

My questions is: should CA form 3801 reflect the federal amount, or the amount for which I was a CA resident? In the later case, CA 3801 would have Passive Activities income 2500, loss 2800, overall loss 300 as Unallowed Losses carried over to coming year.

CA amount to match CA residency. The form 3801 page 2 shows both the federal and the CA amounts.
