Issues with e-filing Virginia Taxes

Hey all,

I'm trying to e-file my VA taxes but I keep getting re-directed to some form that I have no idea what is referring to. It's in my Deductions Statement and is under "Deduction for Eligible Educators Smart Worksheet" - I am not an educator, nor am I married, and it's telling me that I need a value in "Educator Smrt Wks Ln B-SP" for my non-existent spouse.

I don't even really know where this form or anything associated with it is being pulled from. I've tried doing my State return from scratch again and it still comes up with this. Does anyone have any idea how I can get past this? Thanks!

I also have the same issue. Don't think is worth to pay extra fee for LIVE Help if this end up being a software issue. Please someone help!!!!

Same issue here. And as I search for the answer, I see the same question being asked several times. And there are several views, apparently from folks searching for the same answer.

Seems to me like there is an issue that needs to be addressed by Intuit.

It's so frustrating when something that should take 20 minutes, costs you over 2 hours searching for answers to bugs in the system.

I've been a paid user for years. Now trying to help my kids get filed thru the free version. I'm almost to the point of choosing to pay a third party to deal with my taxes instead of using turbotax to save a few bucks and being so frustrated!

Sorry for the rant. Bottom line is that there seems to be several people with the same question tonight.

Having the same issue! I have no wife nor am I an educator and yet it keeps popping up and saying I need to print and mail because of this error!

@everyone in another someone spoke with turbo tax and they said its a system error and should be fixed by monday evening.

Im having the same issue and live in virginia. Ive been using turbo tax for many years and now a 20 minute filing is now taking hours of searching the internet for solutions on what this educator deduction is for my "spouse" that i dont have. Im single, not an educator and am very frustrated right now.

I am getting same error and supposedly the error was suppose to be fixed Monday. Well, here it is Thursday and I am stuck on just this one area to file my taxes! HELP Turbotax

Same issue. Single male in VA, not an educator. I called. They said I'd get an email when it's resolved, but they didn't tell me a date to expect anything.
