Information Worksheet:  Form 1099-Q is still being worked on.

After successfully completing the review section of TurboTax, and then paying for Federal and State TurboTax, I am getting the following error when attempting to e-file:

"Information Worksheet:  Form 1099-Q is still being worked on.  Please return after it has been updated."  TurboTax also then shows the Information Worksheet for my state taxes (Oregon), and I cannot e-file (or Mail).  I've entered the 1099-Q correctly as far as I can tell, and the TurboTax help chatbot says that this type of error is a problem with the TurboTax software.

Has anyone else had this specific error and thoughts on how to proceed without having to continously go through the filing workflow before seeing if this error has been corrected?

Has anyone spoken to a Turbotax support person about this 1099-Q Oregon worksheet issue?  Do we know if it is even on their radar?

Hi there,

I just spoke to a Turbo Tax representative. The issue is not with the software, but the state of Oregon being behind in updating their information for Turbo Tax. She told me it would likely be updated in the next week or two or potentially sooner.

I'm also hung up with this error, flagging my name on the Info Worksheet for a 1099-Q, the distribution to my spouse.  And I'm expecting a $360 credit.

Is there another way to get the credit if the 1099-Q is deleted?

I did the test of deleting the 1099-Q from Embark.

My Oregon refund amount is unchanged.  The 529 credit still shows on the OR-ASC form, it still has the $360 Refundable credit Code 896. And then also on OR-40 line 39.

Still bamboozled by TurboTax throws the error on an Information Sheet.  Seems lame.  Can't understand the comment that it's Oregon's fault somehow.

Things were finally fixed to allow the input of qualified education expenses again, so I had hoped it would address this inexplicable error too. But no -- still getting "Information Worksheet: Form 1099-Q is still being worked on. Please return after it has been updated.." on the "First Name" field of the "Oregon Information Worksheet" form.  (The double-period is not a typo, yet another example of sloppiness in this software.)

Feb 28 and still can't e-file because of this. Shall we all charge Intuit interest on our refunds? 😞

I am experiencing the same issue. I have gone back over the Oregon state taxes multiple times but keep being told that there is an issue with 1099-Q, which is preventing me from e-filing. I will need to pay taxes on some of the income listed on 1099-Q so simply leaving it off is not an option for me. I hope this is fixed soon.

It is validating to see that so many Turbo Tax users are genuinely frustrated that Turbo Tax is both unable to fix the problem with the Oregon Returns, and unable (or unwilling) to post a timeline for a fix. Since there are likely many people posting about it and calling in to Turbo Tax "expert advice" I am deeply troubled by the Company's lack of attention to this issue. After using the product for at least 20 years, this is their worst performance, and may just be the final straw. 😠

I just did all of my taxes today and I'm running into the exact same problem you all are discussing on this thread. I am also in Oregon and have a distribution from a 529 plan. I am disheartened seeing the history of this thread going back weeks and weeks with no satisfactory response from Intuit. If we were in California this would have been solved immediately. I will be buying a different product next year.

Nothing new from TT.  I've called. Sent a FB message.  I posted in TT Facebook mentions.

+1

As of 03/03/2026, I have the same problem filing an Oregon Nonresident return.

Same issue as a Non-Resident Oregon filer.  Been waiting a couple of weeks now.  It is getting frustrating waiting, then checking if resolved, then waiting, then checking if resolved...for a fix!  It is getting hard to trust the "it should be fixed this weekend" responses from Turbo Tax!

Call TT tonight 3/5.. Got the same answer. Its Oregon fault for not updating the form.

Was told should have a fix next week. 😠

@alik1 Please see my response in the other thread -- I do not believe first tier TT support has any idea what they're talking about 1/2 the time. I strongly believe the OR TSU when they say they know nothing about this -- and it's clearly a TT bug.

Just tried again, for the 10th time. Despite the latest update, we still cant e-file in Oregon because of the 1099-Q programming glitch.  I submitted this earlier in the week to TT support and was assured it would be escalated and that it's being worked on. But still nothing. I think this may be my last year using TT. In ten years I've never had a major problem like this that just isnt being addressed.

I tried again today and it submitted finally without the error message.

Really!  Was there a software update when you opened TT?
