If I worked in a different State in 2021, state of Iowa,, how do I file my Minnesota taxes without Interference

I only worked in Iowa for a month,, total Income was under 500.00- I did not pay Rent

If you lived in Iowa for a month, please follow the steps below:

Click on Tax Home on the Left Hand Menu.
On the Main Screen, press on Personal Info and click on Continue
On the Main Screen, you should see your Name, SSN Number, Birthdate. Press the Edit Button on the left side of the screen
Question 2 should state " Tell us the state(s) you lived in. Here you can enter the time period you live in Iowa for and the time period you were in Minnesota for and it should automatically generate a state tax return for Iowa and Minnesota for you to complete.

However, if you lived in Minnesota and worked for a company in Iowa, then you will file a nonresident return for Iowa. Always file the nonresident return first so that any taxes which you paid in the nonresident state, you can get a credit for in the resident state.

Thank You so much for the quick reply,, I will give this Info a try, I am sure all will work out great.. I do remember some of the Info you speak of,, I believe I just typed in the wrong Info or answered the questions wrong.. Great to have a place to get Information from when a person gets "hung up" and not sure what on earth happened!!
