Question

If I paid self-employment tax on a clergy housing allowance, what should I put under the business name, address, zip code etc. for my CA return?

I am paying self-employment tax on a housing allowance I received on my W2 ($0.00 in wages) from a part-time bivocational pastor role. CA lets me deduct self-employment tax from my CA income and TurboTax is copying 50% of this number over to my CA return. However, they are requesting information related to the "business" that I paid this self-employment tax for. What do I put here? Do I leave it blank?

The self-employment tax isn't for a business, it's what's due on a clergy housing allowance.

Just to clarify the original post, TurboTax is asking me to give the business name, address, zip code, etc related to the self-employment tax deduction. Also, this is being copied automatically from my 1040 and I don't see an option to remove it.

The business would be you since you don't have a separate location or name for it. So, the business name would be your name and the address would be your mailing address.
