The return correction notice states that the adjusted refund has been forfeited.  Why is this?  Will I get my money?

A return correction letter from Illinois will include a line-by-line list of the items on your tax return.  You'll be able to see which specific item they changed.  If you disagree with their change, you must send supporting documents showing that your original return was correct..

One example: A common issue in Illinois is the property tax credit.  If Illinois can't verify that you paid your property taxes - even though you did - you'd have to send them some proof of payment, such as a receipt from your local tax agency.

If I do not disagree, do I still need to send in the requested paperwork? AND... if I do. Not disagree, will I receive the adjusted refund? If so, how long will it take?
