Solved

I now live in PA and sold my primary home in MD in 2021. I moved to PA on 1/1/2021. 1. Do I need to file a MD state tax return? ) 2. Is it subject to PA gains tax?

It qualifies for exemption to capital gains tax.

No, you do not need to file a Maryland tax return for the sale of your home there.  You indicated that there were no capital gains to report on the federal return, so this would qualify for an exemption for your personal home for Maryland as well. Maryland conforms to the federal provisions on the exclusion of capital gain on the sale of a principal residence.

The sale of your home in Maryland does not need to be included on your Pennsylvania return.

Did you move on 1/1/21 or 1/1/22?

1/1/2021
