I'm asked if I want to enter any sales tax info and that it could reduce my taxes. Is this sales tax on "anything" or only certain things like maybe "grocery"?

The sales tax deduction is based on your income and the number of people in your family, and a standard basket of items most people purchase. It's calculated by the IRS for each state. You then enter the state sales tax rate plus your local sales tax rate and the program figures the potential deduction for you.
