I live in Virginia but work for a company from Washington state, they won’t withold VA state taxes, do I pay taxes on income from Washington when I file my return?

I am not sure if paying with the state return is necessary or if it’s the wrong thing to do in this situation?

Yes,  since you are a resident of Virginia you will have to include the income earned from the Washington State Company on your Virginia State income tax return. You will have to pay any tax due by the due date if you want to avoid incurring interest.
