I live in South Carolina and work in Georgia, do I need to file two state returns?

I live close to the border of Georgia. I cross the border each morning to work and then return home to South Carolina in the evening. Am I required to file two state returns for both South Carolina and Georgia?

It depends, but probably. You probably will need to file a Georgia nonresident return and a South Carolina resident return. Both SC and GA tax your income, but SC will give you a credit for the tax you must pay to GA on this income.
