The State's acceptance process varies from Federal. Sometimes state returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer. Kentucky stated that they encourage taxpayers to file as early as possible and will also begin accepting both electronic and paper tax returns on Jan. 29. The state will begin processing individual income tax refunds as soon as possible and not later than Monday, Feb. 26, 2018. This date has been pushed back from Kentucky's usual Feb. 15 date to allow more time to test counter-fraud measures using actual data.

I know they take that long to be issues, my federal is accepted, and my state shows pending. I filed over a week ago. Last year it was accepted in 2 days....I'm talking about the "accepted" status not money being issued

State acceptance process varies as well; Kentucky begin accepting tax return on January 29, 2018 and is expected to process them no later than February 26, 2018.
