Question

I cannot edit the Sch C MISC EXPENSES itemized for MA return - 100% of my FED is not 100% for MA as a partial resident. The system doesn't allow me. I already paid TT.

This is sooo maddening as I paid for my taxes, haven't filed yet, and need to make adjustments. I couldn't use desktop because of an old computer not being supported and now, even after paying, I cannot make edits online. There is an Edit button and when I go in the Federal is editable but MA is not - grayed out. There is no "question" to go back to answer differently plus, Federal is correct. So let me make the corrections on MA Schedule C as a partial resident in MA. I expect more from TT. Please help?

If you are using TurboTax Online, you will actually need to select add a state to get back into your Massachusetts return. Please see How do I e-file my state after I already filed my federal for detailed steps to follow.

Once you have access to your Massachusetts return, be sure to go through the state interview screens.  Proceed to answer the questions as prompted.  When you see the screen titled "Business Summary," select Edit to the right of the applicable Schedule C business. You will be able to make adjustments to your business income in this section so that it only reflects the amount of activity from Massachusetts.
