You cannot file a Georgia resident return for 2017 because you weren't a resident in 2017. You have to file a 2017 resident tax return in whatever state you lived in in 2017 (unless it's a state that does not have income tax), even though you don't live there anymore. If you had income in Georgia in 2017 but were not a resident, you probably have to file a Georgia nonresident return for 2017.

I actually lived in 2 states in 2017. I've lived in VA all my life until I retired in September 2017. I moved to AL with my son Oct 1,2017 to Feb 25, 2018.  I then moved to GA Feb 26, 2018.  Do I file in VA or AL?
