Do I need forms? How to finish my ca state return when I have applied for a renters credit?

Hopefully, someone familiar with CA will respond here with further information.

    You would need CA Form 540 to apply for the Renters Credit. TurboTax will automatically calculate this credit based on the tax information that you have entered.  

     

    If you qualify for the credit, it will show up as you walk through the CA state interview questions:
     

    1. When you get to the Renter’s Credit screen, select Yes.
    2. On the screen On Someone Else’s Tax Return? Say No to “Let us know if you can be claimed as a dependent."
    3. On About the Property You Rented, say No to Did you rent any of the above types of property in 2022?
    4. On Did You Claim a Property Tax Exemption? say No.
    5. Answer Yes or No to Were You Married in 2022?
