free state download ISN'T FREE ??

Turbo Tax Deluxe 2019 - says right on the package Free State Download but when I try and download it - it goes to charge my credit card the $39.99 - what happened to FREE ?????

If you purchased the software from TurboTax there is one free software download with all the 2019 desktop editions (except Basic)

If you purchased the software from another retailer the Deluxe edition may or may not have a free state download included in the purchase price. If the software you purchased shows on the box or on the website with State, then the state program should be free to download. If yours is not then contact TurboTax support for assistance.

I will have to call customer service. Maybe my Costco-provided Turbotax 2019 Home & Business has a few software glitches. This has been one heck of an aggravating effort to get the software to behave.

First, I had to uninstall and reinstall, only after pulling all of the orphan registry entries out with JV16PowerTools. I did this because the first install would never offer me the ability to enter my son's 1098T. And an initial uninstall failed. After reinstall, I had to go through hoops to get at the 1098T. Then upon finishing the return, I tried to download ONE FREE STATE. I guess free DIED. I am not talking about free state e-filing. I am talking about ONE FREE state filling and snail mailing. The software attempts to extort about $44 bucks from me for the one free state Step by Step. I went to the very beginning of the software to verify that Arizona (my state) was noted, but the AZ 140 never populates...and I'll be darned if I'm paying $44+ the $80 I paid at Costco to get my one free state. My CD case shows a check mark in front of State Returns. What gives, coders?
