Do I refer to my Fed Copy of my W2 in the State or Local tax questions in the Fed Taxes section? Have only words TOTAL STATE in box 15. Do I enter info from State w2s?
Also, it keeps asking for info in box 16-1 & 16-2; where are those?
Yes. When you receive several copies of a W-2 from an employer, because there are different amounts for state and local taxes, you want to treat the entire amount as if it is one W-2 only. You will enter all of the different state and local amounts on separate lines, using the add another line link. This will allow the program to correctly calculate the tax amounts for both the Federal and any state (and even local) returns.
