do i have to change residency on my taxes if i didnt live in indiana where i work i live in illinois?

i live in illinois but work in indiana what schoud i do?

@mrlc210 you must file two tax returns.

 

1) a non-resident tax return in Indiana where you will report ONLY the income earned while in Indiana.

 

2) a resident tax return in Illinois where you will ALL your income earned, regardless of which state you worked in.  Then Illinois calculate a credit for taxes paid to another state so that you are not paying taxes to two states on the same dollar of income.
