Do I file a Part-Year resident form for OK? Do I have to file for MI, even though I didn't make any money there? If I should file for MI, then should I get a W-2 with my MI address?

I moved to MI in November 2016 after being laid off in OK. I have not claimed unemployment in either state due to severance pay. I have not worked in MI 2016. My W-2 has my old OK address.

Technically your OK return should be part-year resident, but all your income will be on that return since that's where you received it. Since you have no income while a MI resident, you shouldn't have to file a MI return.

Where were you living when you *received* your severance pay? Do you have any other income from MI for the part of the year that you lived there?

I received all of my severance pay in OK. I didn't receive any income in MI. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it.
