Can't efile State Taxes

TurboTax 2021 is telling me I can't eFile my state return until after I eFile my federal return, but I eFiled my federal return months ago. My federal return was accepted and I already received my refund.

You didn't say whether you are using TurboTax Online or the CD/Download TurboTax software.

If you are using TurboTax Online, you have to e-file your state return from the same account that you used to e-file your federal return.

If you are using the CD/Download TurboTax software you have to e-file your state return from the same file that you used to e-file your federal return. I'm not sure whether you have to use the same software on the same computer.

If you are using the Desktop program Try this, You might first need to update your program with the federal efile status. Go up to FILE - Electronic Filing - Check Electronic Filing Status. Then save your return, go to FILE - SAVE. Then close your return and reopen it and go though the File TAB again to file state.

Although there seemed to be a problem updating the federal status. Several people had trouble. Don't know if it was fixed or if Turbo Tax is looking into it.

I am using the CD/Download version. I tried checking the e-filing status (which shows my federal return was accepted) but I still get the error even after saving and reloading it. I am using the same return file for both.
