Question

My T4FHSA shows an amount in Box 36. This is what I transferred from my FHSA to my RRSP. Turbotax is giving me an error saying this should equal Box 32 and 34.

Box 32 and 34 are transfers in from my RRSP, which did not happen.

Make sure you've entered all the amounts in the correct spots.

    I’m in the same situation.

My T4FHSA shows an amount in Box 36 for an FHSA to RRSP transfer, and TurboTax is raising the same validation error about Boxes 32 and 34.

I’ve already spent several hours with TurboTax support trying to resolve it, but haven’t found a clear fix yet.

Posting here in case others have run into this and found a solution.

Please ensure that the amounts entered for each box are accurate and consistent with CRA guidelines:

    • Box 32: Amount transferred from RRSP → FHSA

    • Box 34: Amount transferred from spousal RRSP → FHSA

    • Box 36: Amount transferred from FHSA → RRSP/RRIF

Based on CRA rules, transfers reported in Box 36 should be supported by a valid FHSA activity. In general, inconsistencies may arise if the reported transfer does not align with the related contribution or transfer history.

For more details, please refer to the CRA

      Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

The boxes are filled out as required.  There is actually only one box, #36.

The issue appears to be a programming error in that it is saying that Box 36 should not be greater than Box 32&34. This does not make sense since they are comparing transfers going in opposite ways.

Neither the Tax Experts or the Technical Support were helpful.
