Hi, I have a question about non-resident tax return for freelance work physically conducted in the non-resident state. I thought I have to file a non-resident state return on my 1099-nec. But I don't understand the following questions that turbo tax asks. The following is the copy of the actual page:
------------------
----------
In this section, "one of the states listed here" means the states shown in the dropdown menu?
The non-resident state (AL) I physically worked is one of the states in the dropdown menu. If so, I am considered that "I didn't make money in other state"? And meaning no non-resident state tax required?
When I look around on line , it seems like I am required to file a non-resident AL state for my work done in AL. Am I really need to choose "No, I didn't make money in other state." here?
I really appreciate any advice. Thanks,

I connected to the live support and asked about how to pick the right info in this section.
I was told that "the list" here means these 6 states "Alaska, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, or Wyoming", not the states in the dropdown menu.
I guess everyone selects the right info without an issue in this section. The description was a bit confusing too me.
I wanted to delete this post but couldn't so I just added what I found out about this section with the TB online help.
Thanks,
