Is anyone else having issue entering a Traditional IRA contribution with Schedule C self-employed income. TTax takes me through the page and then does nothing.

I'm using Mac Home & Business. Looks like in Business you can only enter SEP IRA. (which we don't have) and in the traditional area it just refuses to add the contribution.

The SEP IRA contribution deductions go to Schedule 1 of your tax return, similar to traditional IRA contribution deductions which appear on a different line. As a self-employed person, you can contribute to a traditional IRA if you otherwise qualify.

Enter an IRA contribution in Deductions & Credits under the Personal tab in Home & Business.

I just entered an IRA contribution on a test return on my Mac with no problem.

TurboTax will tell you in the interview if some or all of the contribution you entered isn't deductible and why.

Did you specify in the interview that you wanted the IRA contribution to be deductible? If you didn't, that may be why you are not seeing it on your return. If you didn't qualify to make a contribution, you may see Form 5329 in your Forms (Additional Taxes on Qualified Plans).

See this TurboTax tips article for more information.
