Can I please get assistance with inputting my 1099-NEC that I got from an employer? When I tried filling it out, it came through as "self-employed", but I am a contractor

If you are an independent contractor you do not have an employer.  You have a client who is paying you and you are self-employed as far as the IRS is concerned.

If you have self-employment income for which you will pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare,  you will need to use online Premium software or any version of the desktop software download so that you can prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses.

Thank you. I filled out as Self-employed but It was looking like I owned the business. Thanks for the links. I'll go through it again and just follow the steps under the Self-employement section I guess.
