      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, if your wife's HSA is classified as an individual HSA and not a family HSA to cover you then you can open your own HSA as an individual and contribute to it.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, but now it gets tricky. &amp;nbsp;You can have an individual HSA and contribute to it while she contributes to the family HSA. &amp;nbsp;But the combined contributions for both HSAs can't exceed the family contribution maximum ($8,750 in 2026). &amp;nbsp;That contribution limit is per family not per account. &amp;nbsp;So if her employer is maxing out her HSA then you can't contribute to another one.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
