I just received a refund verificfation letter now what? Does this effect my federal Tax return? I was already desperate for my return I really dont know why this is happening!!Please help

If the IRS sent a letter requesting verification, then, yes it will delay your federal refund. Read that letter very carefully and do what it says. If you do not understand the letter, there is a phone number on the letter that you can call.
