I remodeled my home office space with new windows, flooring, lighting, updated heating and cooling unit, etc. Would these items be entered under "other misc expenses"?

No, they would be entered as expenses in the home office section. Was the heating and cooling unit for just your home office or your entire house? If it was for your entire house, you cannot deduct the entire amount. You will get a prorated deduction for the HVAC. Same with the windows. If you had all of your windows replaced in the house, you would only be able to deduct the window for your office, not the windows throughout your house.

As you walk through the Home Office section, you will be asked if you have expenses for only your home office, this is where you would enter a window you replaced in the office or the flooring and lighting that you put in the office.

You will also get a section that asks did you have expenses that applied to the entire home. This is where you will enter your HVAC unit.
