Your desktop Business program shows whether or not you have the download. To actually open the state module, the release date must be past. In my case, Pennsylvania first became available to buy but was nearly a month before I could actually run the module. I purchased the Maryland a couple of weeks ago, but according to the site is not available until 3-1-2024. My program shows it as having been downloaded but I cannot actually work on Maryland state taxes. I get the same endless loop noted by other posters. Will see on Friday/Saturday.

If you receive a message that your software is up to date but your state module does not install, you may need to run the State Clean Up Utility. The link to the tool is found here: State install/e-file update loop.

While this utility doesn't address the availability of state modules due to implementation delays, the process may resolve other state installation issues.
