Since there was no income from self-employment in 2023, wondering if we don't need to get Home and Business this year and instead get a lower version of TurboTax?

Home & Business is a Desktop program. So if you've been using the Desktop program you can buy a lower version like Deluxe. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help in the higher versions.

For Online you can try the Free Edition. But you might need to upgrade to Deluxe or Premium if you have any investment income.

You should be able to use TurboTax Deluxe to close-out the business.

I am using Deluxe now. Where do I close out the business? It officially closed end of 2022.

You should only need to delete Schedule C. Switch to Forms mode, open Schedule C and delete it. There might be other forms you need to delete too like deprecation. You might need to amend 2022 to say it was closed and Final.
