topic Why is the status for W2 efile on Quickbook still "E-file processing" after a day? in Self employed

I am a long-term turbotax user and I just used quickbook to efile a W2 form last night and the status has always been "E-file processing" since then. Does it truly take so long?

Since the deadline is 1/31 which is tomorrow. What should I do?

As long as you transmitted, or attempted to transmit the W-2 before the deadline, it will be considered as filed on time. Moreover, the IRS does not take action against small businesses that submit a W-2 filing late. If the W-2 recipient is anxious for the form, you could go ahead and send them a copy. If the W-2 is still "processing", you may want to cancel and resubmit.

Mine has been in processing for 5 working days with SSA and still not accepted. No way to cancel it and mail in. Is there a problem with SSA accepting w-2 online right now?
