If I am not wrong, the stimulus check is an advance on a 2020 tax rebate.

If you are a dependent in 2019 and independent in 2020, will you be able to receive the amount of the stimulus check when you file you're 2020 taxes as a tax refund?

Thanks.

The rule is that anyone that was claimed on a 2019 (or 2018 return if a 2019 return was not filed), is not eligible for the stimulus check. Since your Dad claimed you, then you are considered a dependent.
